John Hannah

I serve as an Associate Pastor at Abundant Life Fellowship, a role I stepped into in 2022. I am honored to assist Pastor Tammy in pastoral leadership and regularly deliver sermons, typically about twice each month. In addition to my pastoral role, I lead the Morton branch campus of Faith Christian College, where I combine my love for teaching with my calling to ministry.

My desire to serve in ministry has been a long-standing one, though it took time and prayer before I took the step into formal training. In 2021, I began ministry preparation through the Assemblies of God distance learning program and served as an intern Associate Pastor in Mineral, Washington. After nearly a year in that role, the Lord led me to Abundant Life Fellowship. I am deeply convinced that it is the Holy Spirit who has guided this journey, calling me to bring my teaching and leadership gifts into ministry and to serve the communities I live in in ways that complement my secular career in public education.

Beyond Abundant Life Fellowship, I have been involved in several ministry efforts. I continue to collaborate with other education leaders in our region to plan and host faith-based conferences for public educators who desire to see their faith shape their careers, families, students, and communities. I also enjoy writing and have authored several books that explore our faith in Jesus Christ across topics such as eschatology, leadership, and personal spiritual growth.

My personal faith journey began in childhood, when my parents decided to take my sister and me to church so we could understand the true meaning of Easter and its connection to Jesus Christ and the cross. That simple decision led our entire family into a relationship with Christ. From that point on, God placed incredible people in our lives who helped shape my faith. Over the years, my curiosity about God and His Word led me to explore many different churches—not in search of a perfect church, but to understand better who God is and what His Word teaches. As my faith has matured, my heart has grown not only to continue learning but also to share what I have learned with others and walk alongside them on their own journey with Jesus.

One of my greatest passions in Scripture is eschatology, particularly the book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ. This book continually reminds me that God is not finished with humanity or with His chosen people, Israel. Even in the midst of judgment, I see God’s deep love and His invitation for every person to turn to Him and enter into a relationship with Him.

Teaching is at the heart of my ministry calling. Whether I am in a Bible college classroom or preaching a sermon, I love the process of teaching God’s Word. I have found that teaching is never one-sided—I learn just as much from those I teach as they learn from me. My most profound hope, both for myself and for those I serve, is to grow in a close, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to experience the relationship with Him that He desires to have with each of us.

On a personal note, I am married to my wife, Lisa, the love of my life, and we have been blessed to share life together since 2001. We have two amazing adult children, Delanie and Jack, and we could not be more proud of them. Alongside ministry, I work in public education, a field I am passionate about because of the lasting impact education has on students’ lives. Outside of work and ministry, I value experiences with people and enjoy trying new things that allow me to connect with others. If I had to choose a favorite pastime, it would be riding motorcycles, which gives me a chance to unplug from the constant noise of modern life and simply enjoy the journey.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Faith Christian College, a Bachelor of Science in General Science from Oregon State University, and a Master’s in Teaching from City University. I have also authored four books: End Times Unveiled: An Expository Journey Through Revelation and the End of the Age, Peace When Panic Hits, Wisdom from the Word: Leadership Mindsets from the Bible, and Stand with Israel: Israel, the Church, and the Faithfulness of God, all of which are available on Amazon.
